Never used or listen about Chaoscope?

Chaoscope is an application developed to render Strange Attractors.
"Chaoscope is a 3D strange attractors rendering software."

You can use it to interact with a good bunch of Strange Attractors
  • Icon
  • IFS
  • Julia
  • Lorenz
  • Lorenz-84
  • Pickover
  • Polynomial, Type A
  • Polynomial, Type B
  • Polynomial, Type C
  • Polynomial, Sprott
  • Unravel
and render thme in a quite different modes
  • Gas
  • Liquid
  • Light
  • Plasma
  • Solid

Hoping this very brief notes will attract you to a good chaoscoping! :wink:

Here I am!

The Chaoscope's parameter file is:

attractor {
type julia
parameters <18, 0.285333333333333, -0.544, 0.898637061435921>
}

Chaoscope is unfortunately a PC only app. :cry:

I don't know if they're planning a Mac version but I can say they started to work a new version... maybe asking... who knows!

Yes, it's a great application.

Be careful... it easily leads to addiction! :-$ :D

It actually seems to have a 3d version of the attractor presented in couple one of the Pickover's books. His wa 2d mapping. I actually did it in LW long ago as points, but 2d looks kind of boring in 3d...  I was not smart enough  :oops:  to convert the equations into 3d space, I even contacted Cliff regarding this but never got any response.

I'd like to see your LW Pickover implementation too; using HVs could provide some good results! :wink:

Chaoscope has 3D Pickover Attractor; this is an example...
